2026 Municipal All-Candidates Event
Carleton Place Chamber and Lanark and Leeds 88.1 myFM to Host 2026 All-Candidates Event
The Carleton Place & District Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Lanark and Leeds 88.1 myFM/92.3 WOWFM, will host a non-partisan 2026 Municipal All-Candidates Event on Thursday, October 1st, 2026, at the Carleton Place Arena Upper Hall (75 Neelin Street).
The event is supported by the Ottawa Real Estate Board (OREB) as Community Leadership Partner, helping the Chamber provide this free public forum for Carleton Place residents and the local business community.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the event running from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
With 11 certified candidates seeking five (5) Councillor positions, the evening will provide Carleton Place residents and members of the local business community with an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates seeking to represent them for the next term of Council. Bob Perreault of Lanark and Leeds 88.1 myFM/92.3 WOWFM (CHLK-FM) will serve as moderator for the evening.
“88.1 myFM and 92.3 WOWFM are pleased to partner with the Carleton Place & District Chamber of Commerce on this event,” said Perreault. “Local radio has an important role to play in connecting people with what’s happening in their communities, particularly during a municipal election. This partnership gives us another opportunity to bring local issues into focus and help voters better understand the choices before them on election day.”
All 11 certified candidates for Councillor have been invited to participate:

Mayor Toby Randell and Deputy Mayor Andrew Tennant, who have both been acclaimed for the 2026–2030 term, will also be invited to attend and provide brief remarks at the beginning of the evening.

We’re grateful to our partners at myFM/WOWFM and to the Ottawa Real Estate Board for supporting an event that encourages informed participation in our local democratic process.”
Questions will address a range of municipal issues affecting Carleton Place, including growth and infrastructure, municipal finances and taxation, economic development, housing, transportation, community services and other local priorities.
Community Questions Welcome
Residents and members of the business community are encouraged to submit questions in advance by emailing admin@cpchamber.com with the subject line “All Candidates October 1st, 2026.”
Due to the number of candidates and the two-hour event format, not every submitted question can be asked. Questions will be reviewed and consolidated where appropriate to ensure the evening represents a broad range of municipal issues and provides candidates with fair and equal opportunities to participate. All questions during the event will be posed by moderator Bob Perreault.
Each Councillor candidate will have two minutes for opening remarks and one minute for closing remarks, in addition to opportunities to respond to questions throughout the evening.
