Fall Colours & Heritage Walk
- Morning: Start your morning off by visiting the Information Centre at 170 Bridge Street. Here you can view the Capt. A. Roy Brown exhibit. Pick up a free copy of the Self-Guided Historical Walking Tour brochure. Start off with Tour 1 and head north, across Central Bridge. St. James Park offers beautiful fall views of the Mississippi River and Town Hall. If you’re visiting Wednesday through Saturday (10am-4pm), make sure to stop in at the Carleton Place & Beckwith Heritage Museum.
- Midday: After finishing your walking tour, fuel up downtown with lunch at a cozy café or restaurant, then explore historic downtown Carleton Place along Bridge Street and keep an eye out for the vibrant murals.
- Afternoon: Wander along the Mississippi RiverWalk Trail, starting from Princess Street by the Carleton Place Arena. Take in the colourful fall foliage and wildlife sightings.
- Evening: Cap the day with dinner at a local restaurant and a golden-hour photo stop at Central Bridge while the sun sets.
Bakeries, Brews & Trails
- Morning: Kick off your morning with a stop at a cozy café or bakery!
- Midday: Enjoy walking or cycling along the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail, or the Mississippi RiverWalk Trail (accessible from Princess Street). Looking for bike rentals? Head to our Information Centre, 170 Bridge Street and rent cruiser style bikes.
- Afternoon: Visit the two breweries in Town. The first is Braumesiter Brewing Co., along the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail, and the other is Stalwart Brewing Co., at 10 High Street. At Stalwart you can enjoy a hand-made pub pie to soak in the delicious craft beer!
- Evening: Pack the bikes away and enjoy a dinner at any of our local restaurants.

- Morning: Start your morning off right with a family breakfast! Then explore downtown Carleton Place where you can explore shops for the kids and the parents along Bridge Street. Make sure to check out GT games and The Retro Room if your family is interested in video games!
- Midday: Bring the skateboards and bikes so the kids can enjoy the skate park and pump track at Carleton Junction! If the whole family has bikes, enjoy cycling together along the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail (adult bike rentals available at Information Centre).
- Afternoon: Line up your visit when you can book at tour of the Parrot Rehabilitation Centre, Parrot Partners! Not a fan of birds? Book a line at Chasin’ Turkeys instead and go bowling!
- Evening: Pick up a sweet treat before you head home or enjoy a filling family meal at any of our local restaurants.

- Morning: Enjoy freshly ground coffee and a quick breakfast at any of our cozy café or bakeries!
- Midday: Use our online shop and dine guide or pick up a physical copy from the Information Centre, and take on the shops along Bridge Street!
