DESCRIPTION:Race Around the Place is Carleton Place’s own community-driven run event\, designed to bring people together in celebration of active living\, local pride\, and small-town charm. Hosted by a dedicated volunteer team\, this not-for-profit event features three distances—a Half Marathon\, 10K\, and 5K—welcoming everyone from first-time racers to seasoned athletes. The scenic routes showcase the best of Carleton Place and surrounding areas\, with a mix of historic downtown streets\, tranquil river views\, and lush trail segments. Proceeds from the race will directly support our local food bank\, The Hunger Stop\, making every stride count toward a stronger\, more connected community. \nThe event will take place on Saturday\, October 25th\, with staggered race start times to ensure a smooth experience for runners and volunteers alike. The Half Marathon will kick off at 9:00 AM\, followed by the 10K at 9:15 AM\, and the 5K at 9:30 AM. Join us on Tuesday\, October 28 from 6-7:30pm at the library for a night of silent art-ing. Bring along whatever you’re working on—a painting\, your sketchbook\, that blanket you’re crocheting—and do it quietly in a room full of other people who love to create\, but don’t want the pressure of having to make conversation.  Maybe it’ll happen naturally\, but expect to just “art” with us for a bit and then go home. Maybe you’ll meet a new coffee friend\, or maybe you’ll just get out of the house for a while. \nWhatever the reason\, we’d love to see you on Tuesday\, October 28th.

DESCRIPTION:The most exciting holiday craft fair of the season is just around the corner!  Join us at the Carleton Place Public library on Saturday\, November 8 from 10:00am – 1:00pm for the 3rd Annual Mini Maker Craft Fair.  Admission is free for this amazing event where all the vendors are 16 years old or under. They’ve spent the last 8 months preparing their items\, learning about small businesses and getting ready to sell out with items like pottery\, jewelry\, art\, baking and much more—you won’t be disappointed.  (Sorry\, all vendor spaces are full for this event.) \nTo add to the excitement\, RONA Carleton Place is sponsoring the event again this year and providing an amazing door prize for one lucky attendee! Come and see what these incredible young creators have to offer and pick up a few gifts for the holiday season.  CASH is preferred as most vendors will not have any other option.  \nThe doors will open promptly at 10am at the library so don’t be late or you’ll miss out on the best deals.
